Mixed Fortunes For London Rivals

Spurs are going to have to really pick themselves up if they are going to finish top 4 this season after a bruising loss to Liverpool. Ok, I know, Liverpool are title contenders for this season, however, Spurs did not like anything remotely similar to title contenders as they went down by 2 at home to the Reds. Despite Salah, last years fantastic goal scorer, looking strangely a shadow of his former self, Tottenham barely looked liked scoring. So, I guess, you could say that both Kane and Salah were not wearing the right boots tonight, as neither had any impact on the game.
Newcastle 1 - Arsenal 2
The Gunners had, frankly, an insipid first half away at Newcastle, however, the replacement of Guendouzi with Torreira sparked life into the Gunners, as Xhaka fired home a free kick after 48, and, Ozil added a rare goal after 57.
Despite a late consolation goal from Kieren Clark for Newcastle, the stats show that Arsenal dominated the possession, shots, and the result.

Saturday's EPL Action!

What happened in the EPL? What a cracking night for football in the EPL! First of all, Liverpool were, I guess, one of the more predictable wins. Even being away at Leicester was not enough to cause an upset. What is even more surprising is that after Karius went sent away for his errors, the world's most expensive goalkeeper, Alisson, seemed to want to fill in by making an absolute howler, and gifting Leicester a goal. 
Manchester City also scored a predictable victory over Newcastle with a 2-1 victory! Despite City absolutely dominating possession, Newcastle, at one point, drew level until Kyle Walker rifled home a long range effort to secure the points(predictably).
In other top flight action, Chelsea disposed of Bournemouth. Pedro and Hazard left it late to secure the 3 points for Sarri.  Although Chelsea are doing everything that is asked for them, 4 games in, there does appear to be a very real possibility of a melt down at some point, mostly due to the way that Sarri is st…
