Verizon To Launch Local TV Channel FiOS1

Verizon is set to launch a local television channel FiOS1 and will present 2008 Presidential Campaign. This channel will be available on Channel 1 in the Verizon FiOS TV channel lineup in Northern Virginia and parts of Maryland. FiOS1 will present local weather, traffic, news, sports, community features and presently its ready to present taped programming of three presidential debates and the vice-presidential debates and also Democratic and Republican convention speeches.

Michelle Webb, executive producer and general manager of FiOS1 said “As we near the end of the presidential campaign, this is a great time for our FiOS TV customers to review some of the political action from the last few months, Verizon’s FiOS1 is committed to delivering content that touches lives and communities, and we hope this programming will help our subscribers make an informed decision.”
