Time Warner Cable Launches 11 new HD Channels In Dallas Area
It’s exciting news for television subscribers as the satellite providers like DirecTV, Dish Network and Cable providers like Comcast, Cablevision and Verizon are adding new local and national high-definition channels. According to Dallas News, Time Warner Cable also has added new 11 high-definition channels in Dallas, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson areas.
Time Warner Cable is also planning to offer more HD channels in many market areas before the year end. With the addition of these channels Time Warner is offering about 30 channels, Time Warner has exceeded Verizon’s Fios TV but less than the Satellite giant DirecTV and Dish Network. Time Warner is going to use Switched Digital Video to expand its HD programming, which will save the bandwidth. Following are the New HD channels added in Dallas area by Time Warner last week :-

“We should have around 50 HD channels, not counting HD video on demand, everywhere in North Texas by the end of the year,” said company spokesman Gary Underwood, The channels that any household watches frequently will still be delivered to cable boxes in that house,” said Mr. Underwood. “It’s only when viewers flip to a channel they rarely use that the box requests that channel feed and the node delivers it.”
