Time Warner Cable Launched Enhanced TV feature ‘Start Over’ in Raleigh Area

Time Warner Cable has launched enhanced TV feature ‘Start Over‘ in Carolina region. This feature will allow subscribers to restart a program in progress without any preplanning or in-home recording devices. Start Over feature is free to Time Warner Cable digital subscribers and has included programming from ten networks that includes following:

Biography

Boomerang

Fine Living

Fox Movie Channel

Hallmark

National Geographic

Noggin

Showtime

TMC East and

Tru TV

The cable operator is planning to add more networks with an aim to reach 50 by the end of the year.

Time Warner Cable’s Start Over is enabled by a software upgrade to the existing video on demand (VOD) platform and to the installed base of digital set top boxes. It was named the winner of the 2007 Emmy Award for Outstanding Innovation and Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for Best Use of on Demand Technology over Private Networks.

Chris Whitaker, Time Warner Cable vice president and general manager for Raleigh said “Start Over delivers to our digital cable subscribers a new level of control over their television and makes it even easier to watch what they want when they want without any pre-planning, Start Over builds on Time Warner Cable’s long history of technological firsts that provides consumers with the power to take control of their television viewing. We are very excited to be bringing this convenience to our customers.”
