Time Warner Cable has launched Smithsonian Channel in high-definition on channel 791 on May 29 in digital programming lineup. This channel is a joint venture between Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution which brings features original non-fiction programming that covers a wide range of historical, scientific and cultural subjects, all presented commercial-free.
Time Warner Cable in Western New York (WNY) region is offering more than 70 HD channels including 48 HD channels offered to digital subscribers free of charge.
Terence Rafferty, Regional Vice President Operations, Time Warner Cable, WNY Division said “We’re excited about our partnership with the Smithsonian Channel, it will be another great addition to our growing HD lineup, the vast majority of which is included free with our digital cable service.”
