ThruVision makes camera that sees under cloths

Security Agencies world-wide will have a big smile as there is a good news for them. A camera that can discern explosives, weapons and drugs to conceal from sight from up to 25 metres away. ThruVision, a market leader in passive standoff terahertz imaging Solutions Company developed T5000 Camera which uses “Unique security imaging technology”. This technology can be used to detect weapons, plastics, ceramics, liquids, narcotics and explosives hidden under clothing. The Camera is to be revealed to public at the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) Exhibition on 12 & 13 March 2008. The Camera could be used in crowded shopping malls, sporting events and mainly in Airports.

Clive Beattie, ThruVision’s CEO said “Acts of terrorism have shaken the world in recent years and security precautions have been tightened globally. The T5000 dramatically extends the security surveillance envelope for ThruVision’s passive body scanning products used at important sites and events. The ability to see both metallic and non-metallic items on people out to 25m is certainly a key capability that will enhance any comprehensive security system deployment.”
ThruVision has developed the technology for the T5000 in collaboration with The European Space Agency and the research is based on the UK astronomers.
