by admin on March 30, 2008

FSN Southwest, which holds the local television rights for the broadcast of Texas Rangers games, will start broadcasting with the March 31 season opener against the Seattle Mariners on FSN Southwest as they will produce 86 games in high-definition in this year to be presented by FSN Southwest along with Dallas-Fort Worth broadcast stations KDFI-My 27 and KDFW Fox 4.

It’s going to be four times the high-definition games scheduled to be broadcast this year comparing last year’s 17 Rangers games in High-definition. As they are planning to produce maximum games in HD, out of 81 games presented 72 are to be in HD, while 14 road games are to be in HD. KDFI My 27 station will bring about 20 games and one game by KDFW FOX 4.

“We’re excited to deliver more high-definition Texas Rangers games than ever before,” said FSN Southwest Senior Vice President and General Manager Jon Heidtke. “Sports fans keep asking for more sports programming in HD. As more television homes upgrade to
high-definition, we will continue to meet that demand and increase our HD commitment.”
