Indians made huge score in Adeliade Test

by admin on January 25, 2008

Australia ended the day of Fourth and Final test match between India and Australia played at Adelaide Oval at 62 for no loss. Indians made Australians toil until Tea of the second day and batted for five sessions and piled a huge score of 526 all out in their first innings. This is new to many of the Australians players as they were on back foot for whole of two days. Except Hayden, Ponting and Gilchrist the Australian team have not been exhausted like this earlier. These three Australians toured India under Steve Waugh and witnessed a sensational batting by VVS.Laxman Dravid during 2001 and were in the field for two long days.

With Australia lead the series with 2-1 and retained the Border-Gavasker Trophy, result will not have a major impact on the test series. Captain Anil Kumble led from the front and played a valuable knock of 87 and the partnership between Kumble and Harbajan made 107 after Sachin Tendulkar and Dhoni departed in the morning session. Tendulkar and Dhoni started the day at 306 for 5 and Tendulkar reached 150 and was out to Brett Lee for 153 and soon Dhoni followed with 16.

Australians have to bat whole day Tomorrow and make a good score in an excellent batting conditions and pitch not showing any signs of deteriorating. A good match on our hands as certain result is possible in the Test match.
