FSN Kansas City to carry 88 Royals game in HD out of 140 regular season games

Fox Sports Net Kansas City and The Kansas City Royals have already announced the telecast schedule of the 2008 season, Apart from two exhibition games, 140 regular season games are to telecasted, which is one of the largest in the franchise history. Out of 140 games 88 games are to be beamed in high-definition. After the first exhibition game against Milwaukee Brewers, The Kansas City Royals will play its second exhibition game today in Royals training facility in Surprise, Arizona. From March 31st, Royals fans can catch the team’s opener at Detroit in HD, and the home opener on April 8th against Yankees, both in high-definition.

Royals Hall of Famer, Paul Splittorff will serve as analyst for the majority of the telecasts while Ryan Lefebvre is to host the 142 games. There will be a half-an hour post and pre match analysis “Royals Live” to be presented by Joel Goldberg. Out of the 140 games season television schedule features 66 road games and 74 from Kauffman Stadium.

“Our partners at FSN Kansas City have assembled the most aggressive television schedule in team history, including telecasts of 82 of the first 88 games,” said Mike Swanson, Royals’ Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting. “Among the highlights of this multi-year agreement with FSN Kansas City includes Mid-Missouri markets having the opportunity to view more games than ever before. Since our inception, the Royals have been proud of the regionalization of this franchise, and the volume of exposures combined with the number of markets that will receive those exposures only strengthens that sentiment.”
