Dish Networks AMC-14 satellite fails to reach the planned orbit
One of the leading satellite television provider in the US, Dish Network’s effort to compete with its main competitor DirecTV by launching a satellite had taken a back seat as the new satellite failed to reach the orbit. DirecTV which offer almost 100 high-definition(HD) channels are set to launch another satellite DIRECTV 11 to expand its HD channels.
Dish Network, which offers almost 75 channels to increase the bandwidth and planning to deliver 100 HD channels leased a satellite AMC-14, which was scheduled to launch on 14th of March. International Launch Services(ILS) reported that the satellite lifted from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan perfectly and an “anomaly” occurred during the second burn of the Breeze M upper stage and then the satellite failed to reach the desired orbit.
The officials of SES Engineering said that they are trying all possible ways to place the satellite in the planned orbit and the satellite is Live and commented about the life of the satellite may reduce.
