DISH Network Launches digital-to-analog converter box ‘DTVPal’
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) an independent US government agency has set deadline of February 17, 2009 for all the full-powered local stations to switch their analog signals to digital. After this deadline, viewers need a digital converter box or a pay TV subscription to receive the programming. FCC has announced that between January 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009, all US households will be able to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used towards the future purchase of eligible digital-to-analog converter boxes.
Dish Network has announced on Thursday the launch of DTVPal, new Digital TV converter box. The DTVPal qualifies for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s TV Converter Box Coupon Program. The DTVPal is available for purchase at $59.99 and consumers can purchase converter box at $19.99 after applying the $40 government coupon. Dish Network has announced that DTVPal boxes can be purchased at its web site, www.dtvpal.com or by calling 1-888-638-9912.
