Dish Network, the first pay-TV provider to offer all-MPEG-4 service has announced that it will start delivering all its contents through the advanced MPEG-4 delivery system. The satcaster will start with the eastern parts of the United States and will try in 11 markets. Dish states that the subscribers in 32 markets will be delivered with all standard and high definition programming in the MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding Standard.
The new customers signing Dish Networks service will experience best quality HD programming with TurboHD, a only HD programming package. Dish Network claims that they offer 114 HD channels and will offer more than 150 HD channels before the year end. The only HD package ‘TurboHD’ available in three separate tiers and comprises special “turbo-charged” features and benefits such as DISH Network’s industry- and customer-favorite DVRs, movies in 1080p resolution quality comparable to Blu-Ray disc, and the most-watched HD channels that may be viewed on any TV — analog, digital or high definition.
