DirecTV Launches Local HD Broadcast in the Peoria-Bloomington, Illinois

DirecTV has launched local high-definition broadcast in the Peoria-Bloomington, Illinois market area starting from Wednesday, Nov. 19. DirecTV is concentrating more on adding local HD channels rather than adding national HD channels.

Subscribers are eager to get many of the national channels in HD. Now the satcaster has added local HD broadcast in the Peoria, Bloomington by delivering following local HD channels:

WHOI/ABC

WMBD/CBS

WEEK/NBC and

WYZZ/FOX

DirecTV subscribers with H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish will receive the above channels. Now, the satcaster is offering local HD broadcast channels in 115 cities, which represents more than 87 percent of U.S. TV households.
