DirecTV adds ESPNews and Two other HD channels

Leading satellite provider in the country DirecTV has added three new high-definition channels to its line-up. The satcaster went for aggressive high-definition expansion last year with the help of the satellite DIRECTV 10 launched during July last year, from nine HD channels DirecTV ended the year with 92 channels. These are the first HD channels added in 2008, with this addition DirecTV is now providing 95 national high-definition channels to the customers. This is the start for the HD channel delivery, as the satcaster is expected to end up with 150 national HD channels by the year end 2008.

The new HD channels that are added by DirecTV are :

Disney Channel HD Channel: 290

ESPNews HD Channel: 207

Toon Disney HD Channel: 292

ESPNews HD, which was launched on March 30, 2008, DirecTV is the first provider to add this channel to its HD line-up. Dish Network, Comcast and Time Warner are also planning to add ESPNews HD in their line-up.
