Cox Communications cable systems in Kansas and parts of Nebraska won’t carry forty games out of 140 Kansas City Royals games to be televised by Fox Sports Net Kansas City. The Kansas City Royal fans in Omaha are really disappointed as they have missed many and also to miss many of the games.
FSN broadcasted Sunday’s contest against the Minnesota Twins, the second of the season was not available for Cox subscribers even though the programming guides still listed the baseball game as the programming for the time slot. But the viewers in Omaha saw women’s college gymnastics.
Cox spokesperson said the cable provider’s contract is for 100 games, and there have not been negotiations to add the 40. The leadings satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network have reached an agreement with FSN Kansas City for the additional games but Cox has not.
Cox subscribers are going to miss Sunday at Minnesota, April 9-10 New York, April 12-13 Minnesota, April 17 at L.A. Angels, April 22 Cleveland and April 30 at Texas games.
Mike Voluch a baseball fan said “That’s too bad, The Royals are the local team, Cox should be carrying that, I am really disappointed.”
