Comcast has announced that it will launch high-speed internet service in Oregon and Southwest Washington in December. Comcast will launch Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.0 in these area to provide 50 Mbps internet speed.
Comcast is to serve from Longview, Washington to Eugene, Oregon and subscribers can expect a very high internet speed that they have not experienced earlier. Comcast’s existing internet subscribers will also be provided with this 50 Mbps.
Curt Henninger, Senior Vice President of Comcast Oregon and SW Washington said “”Wideband is a revolutionary leap in offering super fast high-speed Internet service in Oregon and Southwest Washington. By running wideband service over our next-generation fiber-optic network, we are able to dramatically enhance our customers’ online experience immediately. And these speeds are only a preview of what’s to come — in the future we’ll have the capability to deliver even faster speeds in excess of 160 Mbps.”
