Comcast has announced that it will launch High-Speed Internet Service in Baltimore market in Dec.2008. Comcast will use DOCSIS 3.0 to launch the service in this area. The high-speed internet service will be available to subscribers in nine Arundel County, City of Annapolis and Howard County and others in Baltimore market will be served before the second quarter of 2009.
Comcast will be the fastest internet provider in the area once the next-generation DOCSIS 3.0 is launched in Baltimore area. Comcast will deliver double the speed of the existing service at no extra cost.
Fred Graffam, senior vice president of Comcast’s Beltway Region said “We are pleased to be rolling out this next generation service to our customers, which will dramatically enhance their online experience, this technology, combined with our advanced fiber optic network, will enable us to continue to offer our customers even faster speeds and an entirely new phase of Internet innovation.”
