MGM HD from studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Comcast, the largest cable operator in the U.S has reached an agreement on Friday. This agreement will allow Comcast to broadcast hundreds of high-definition movies to its subscribers from the MGM library (owns record 4,100 movies). Comcast, which holds 20 % stake in MGM, will televise HD movies from the MGM library for its subscribers through its linear Channel and video-on-demand service also.
“As more people are watching movies in HD, Comcast is a one-stop destination for all of the hits, new and old,” Matt Bond, Comcast’s executive vice president for content acquisition, said in a statement. “This agreement brings a wealth of quality MGM films to our customers and adds to our growing library of hundreds of HD choices we currently offer.”
