DIRECTV started its high-definition expansion last year and has delivered almost 95 HD channels and now adding local HD channels in many Market area. The satcaster has launched a new satellite and the next phase of HD expansion will start and expected to deliver 150 national and 1500 local HD channels. Other providers and Cable Companies have no option to compete are just delivering new HD channels depending upon their Bandwidth availablity and also trying ways and means to stay in the competition.
The largest cable television provider Comcast is also going for agressive HD expansion and delivering new HD channels in many markets. Now Comcast has added Two new HD channels in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Comcast customers in these area receive Disney HD and Family Channel HD. Comcast has delivered more than 10 new HD channels during December.
