Time Warner Cable Partners With LULAC To Expand broadband Internet To Latino Communities

Time Warner Cable has announced that it has partnered with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to expand broadband Internet technology training to underserved Latino communities throughout the United States.

Time Warner Cable will provide three-year $200,000 grant and also will support technology centers that provide training, technology and support services in Latino communities served by the company.

The centers will receive technology benefits such as a broad array of technology equipment including desktop computers, laser printers, high speed internet access, LCD projectors and technology.

Time Warner Cable has selected centers that are located in San Antonio, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri (existing); Waukesha, Wisconsin (existing); Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

These centers were selected by a National grant competition based on each site’s competitive progress, its level of need to better serve the local community and its innovative application of technology. The five centers will become a part of LULAC’s Empower Hispanic America with Technology Network — that currently provides broadband access free of charge to 100,000 visitors annually.

LULAC National President Rosa Rosales said “We are delighted with the tremendous support and partnership developed with Time Warner Cable to bring the latest technologies to the Hispanic community. Studies have show time and time again that those with access to technology resources fare better in life than those that do not. With this funding, we will be able to provide to those who are in most need of these services.”

Time Warner Cable Launches 28 New High-Definition Channels in El Paso, Texas

Oceanic Time Warner Cable Launches Eight HD Channels, Six More Coming in December

Time Warner Cable has launched eight new high-definition channels to its subscribers in Hawaii Cluster. Time Warner Cable subscribers in Hawaii, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and Oahu receive following new HD channels:

Disney XD HD – channel 1445

Fox News HD – channel 1109

MLB HD – channel 1208

Time Warner Cable is now offering 64 HD channels to its Oceanic subscribers and six more HD channels are to be added later in December.

Oceanic Vice President-Marketing Alan Pollock said “We’re getting closer to our goal of offering more than 100 high-definition channels. In fact, we’ll be launching six more HD channels in December, with a few more slated for January.”

Brightpoint Signs Pact with Time Warner Cable To Deliver Supply Chain Solution

Brightpoint North America has signed an agreement with Time Warner Cable to provide supply chain solutions that include transportation management, inventory management, device customization, fulfillment, and reverse logistics.

Time Warner Cable to be helped in all these services in launch of Road Runner Mobile including wireless data card, accessory and collateral fulfillment and returns, triage and repairs.

Time Warner Cable Appoints Craig Collins As Senior Vice President, Business Services Sales & Marketing

Time Warner Cable has appointed Craig Collins as Senior Vice President, Business Services Sales & Marketing to lead the company’s commercial services division expansion. Time Warner’s commercial services division offers data, phone, video and Ethernet services to businesses.

Collins has vast experience in commercial sales, general management, strategy and marketing and recently served as executive-level capacities at XO Communications.

Collins joins Time Warner Cable with nearly seven years at XO Holdings, serving most recently as President of SMB and Hosting for its Concentric unit. He formerly was Vice President of Sales and Business Development of Nextlink Wireless, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of XO Holdings. Earlier in his career, Collins was Vice President of Marketing and Product Management of Intermedia Business Internet, a fully-owned subsidiary of Intermedia Communications Inc.

Gerald D. Time Warner, YouTube Ink Video Distribution Pact

Time Warner and YouTube have announced that they have signed an online video distribution agreement. This agreement will deliver consumers access to an extensive variety of high-quality, short-form content owned by Time Warner that include clips from movies, television shows and news programming.

YouTube will host the content made available from a wide range of Time Warner-owned television shows and movies. Consumers will have easier access to a wide selection of existing and future clips, ranging from CNN news coverage to Cartoon Network and Adult Swim animated shows to TNT’s hit dramas to Warner Bros.

Time Warner will create separate channels for its key participating brands as well as to control and sell the ad time on YouTube. Warner Bros. Entertainment and Turner Broadcasting will work with YouTube to offer their advertising and agency partners unique packages of targeted advertising, supplemental marketing and branded channels.

Time Warner Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bewkes said, “Our agreement with YouTube helps us expand the amount of our promotional content, animation and news that we already make available online. Working with YouTube, we expect to improve our ability to monetize this short-form content through new and creative advertising initiatives.”

Chad Hurley, co-founder and CEO of YouTube said, “This partnership with Time Warner will provide our community with some of the most popular video content produced. We hope to build on this deal and look forward to a long and productive relationship.”

Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio To Add Five SD Channels And Drop Seven PBS Stations

Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio has added five new standard definition channels and dropped seven of the 16 public television stations (PBS). Following are the new SD channels that has been included:

Time Warner Cable has launched Smithsonian Channel in high-definition on channel 791 on May 29 in digital programming lineup. This channel is a joint venture between Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution which brings features original non-fiction programming that covers a wide range of historical, scientific and cultural subjects, all presented commercial-free.

Time Warner Cable in Western New York (WNY) region is offering more than 70 HD channels including 48 HD channels offered to digital subscribers free of charge.
